Jon de Guzman has spent more than three decades in music, moving between instruments, turntables and dance floors since the mid-90s.
Before DJ Slender, there were keys and drums. Jon began performing at weddings as a keyboardist and drummer before taking his place behind the decks — bringing a musician’s instinct for rhythm, timing and atmosphere with him.
Since then, he’s played just about every kind of room imaginable, from weddings and private celebrations to functions and Melbourne nightlife.
Vinyl came with the territory. So did learning to read a crowd without relying on a screen. Three decades later, that instinct remains at the centre of every set — knowing when to build it, when to change direction and when to simply let a track have its moment.
His growing demand eventually led to Premium Event DJs, bringing together a carefully selected roster of DJs who share the same approach to music and the room around them.
